  • East Rochester native Kyllea Kerg can now add "Emmy winner" to her résumé.
Kerg now lives in Cleveland, OH, where she works as animator for North Water Partners, a creative consulting and video production firm.
The company won the Emmy, Lower Great Lakes Chapter, in the best graphics and animation category for its video titled "Growing Cleveland."
The award-winning video is a short animated piece that promotes the nonprofit, Sustainable Cleveland. It is nearly three minutes in length and illustrates the food cycle of a tomato — from seed, to salsa, to store, to its final decomposition.
Kerg, 26, studied animation at Cleveland Institute of Art. She started as an intern at North Water Partners and has been working there full-time since 2011.
Her involvement with different projects starts from developing concepts to storyboarding and final production.
"I've done a lot of different kinds of animation," said Kerg, who enjoys character drawing most. "Every project is different, so you're always getting to do things you've never done before and trying new techniques."
This is NWP's first Emmy Award.
