There’s a new name on Fortune magazine’s list of America’s 1,000 largest corporations, based on annual revenue.
PAETEC Holding Corp. announced today that it has been named to the list for the first time — in just its 12th year of operations.
The Perinton-based communications company, founded in 1998, comes in at 982 with 2009 revenues of $1.58 billion and profits at minus $28.7 million.
“This recognition from Fortune magazine as one of America’s largest corporations is an unmistakable landmark on the path to our success,” said Arunas A. Chesonis, chairman and CEO of PAETEC. “I would like to thank our employees, our customers, and our shareholders for the commitment it took to reach this milestone. All of our stakeholders must know that as we grow in scale and geography, the same customer-focused principles which defined PAETEC when we started the company 12 years ago will continue to guide us to our next major achievement.”
Being named to the list is the latest in a series of accolades for PAETEC which, in 2003, was named by Deloitte as No. 2 in its Fast 500 list highlighting the fastest growing technology firms in North America.
In 2009, PAETEC again appeared on the Deloitte list as one of 22 companies with more than $1 billion in annual revenue. In 2009 and 2010, PAETEC was named 10 and 9, respectively, among the best companies to work for in New York state by the New York State Society for Human Resource Management.
Other Rochester-area companies on the Fortune 1000 list include Kodak at 297; Constellation Brands, 549; and Paychex, 803. A full listing of the FORTUNE 1000 is available at www.fortune.com.
