Event highlights
1. A group of local artists will do a progressive piece throughout the evening. The work will be displayed through the end of the month, when it will be raffled off. Other artists also have donated items to be raffled off that night.
2. Art is a big part of the Eastside Café. The restaurant provides colored pencils and paper at every place setting for adults and children to create their art. Appropriate artwork goes on the wall, children’s work goes along the entrance hallway and inappropriate artwork goes in the kitchen.
3. Café manager Toni Foley knows someone in Haiti associated with Love of a Child, a foundation that runs an orphanage that housed 29 children before it was destroyed in the earthquake. The proceeds from the art are going to the orphanage, along with art supplies collected at the event.
Why you should attend
“Traditionally we have two charities we support, Lollypop Farm and the Advent House. In light of what’s going on, we’ve changed our gears. We wanted to make sure the 29 children of the orphanage are safe. Where the money is going is really a concern, so we have a person in Haiti we’re directing all revenue to.”
— Toni Foley of Perinton, Eastside Café manager
