Casa Larga Vineyards was a double award winner at the 25th Pacific Rim International Wine Competition recently at the National Orange Show Events Center in Southern California.
During the two-day event, the Perinton winery won gold and Best of Class for the Pacific Rim Dessert Wine and received recognition for its Vidal Blanc Ice Wine, Fiori Delle Stelle, 2006 Limited Release.
The Pacific Rim International Wine Competition, held annually since 1985, has been setting high standards for judging of fine wines. Each April, 30 wine professionals throughout the country conduct a blind evaluation of nearly 2,000 wines that are featured in the competition.
Awards offered include: Grand Champion, Best Sparkling Wine, Best Red Wine, Best Rose Wine, Best White Wine and Best Dessert Wine. A Best of Class is awarded to the specific wine classes, in addition to Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.
“The family and staff of Casa Larga are very excited to receive this award,” said Casa Larga Operations Director Andrea Colaruotolo O’Neill. “Wine competitions are becoming increasingly competitive. It is always an honor to win gold and it is even more of an honor to win Best of Class.”
The award-winning wines produced by Casa Larga Vineyards are available at the Winery Gift Shop, 2287 Turk Hill Road, online at www.casalarga.com and at many local liquor stores.
