Answering the call to aid in the tragedy which continues in Haiti following the devastating recent earthquake, the Daniele family donated more than 800 jars of their families' pasta sauce which was sold to the parishioners at St. Louis Church in the village of Pittsford.
The Rev. Kevin Murphy of St. Louis Church and Anthony Daniele, co-owner of Mario’s and Bazil restaurants as well as a Monroe County legislator, representing Pittsford and East Rochester, came up with the idea a few weeks ago and hurried to make it happen.
“Seeing the tragedy in Haiti unfold on TV, I couldn’t help but recall the recent earthquake that destryed my hometown in Italy,” Daniele said. “I also remembered the generosity of hundreds of local families when we asked for their help. This was an opportunity to pass that generosity forward and help those in Haiti”
The parishioners purchased jars of Mario’s pasta sauce after mass for $4 each, many families buying by the case, for a total sale of 816 jars. The total amount raised was $3,041. The Money will go to Our Little Brothers and Sisters orphanage and hospitals in Haiti
