A group of 90 seniors from the Faiport High School’s Leadership Seminar class got a glimpse of American government in action during a visit to Washington, D.C. this month, and now they’re ready to share what they’ve learned.
Although President Obama wasn’t in town, the majestic White House welcomed the visitors, who were split into 12 different groups, each with a different topic assigned to them. The groups then met with government staff to discuss their topic, and the issues related to it.

“The students were excited from the beginning,” said McKenzie, lower school computer science teacher. “Not surprisingly, some of the young ones were already quite experienced with tablet technology.”
