Three local students were recognized at the May convocation at Syracuse University for receiving awards in music.
Patrick Dupont of Fairport, a music composition major from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, was honored for receiving the Irene L. Crooker Music award for demonstrated excellence in music.
Stephen Ryck of Penfield, a graduating music industry major from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, was honored for receiving the Douglas Soyars Music Industry Award for students in music industry.
Taylor Freitas of Rochester, a graduating wind instruments major from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, was honored for receiving the Morton Schiff Jazz Award for outstanding jazz musician students.
