Fairport native and licensed massage therapist Jeanne Gehret will be giving a demonstration of trigger point therapy to the NYS chapter of the American Perianesthesia Nurses Association at the Burgundy Basin Inn.

This massage therapy method treats variety of conditions, including arthritis, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, headache, muscle ache, and repetitive strain injuries through the use of pressure on specific points to quickly stimulate the flow of oxygen to the area and promote rapid pain reduction.

It has been used for decades by doctors, pain specialists, and massage therapists and the instructor has successfully taught it to clients since 2003.

The event is closed to the public. For more information call the Inn at 248-2660.
