More than 1,000 campers attended the Perinton Recreation and Parks summer camp program.
Parents were able to select from five different site locations. Each week presented a different creative fun theme, such as “Blazing the Trail,” “Healthy Heroes,” “Imagine That,”
“Ancient Times,” “Going Green” and more. To add to the fun campers took field trips to see movies, go bowling and watch a game at Frontier Field.
Each site hosted a barbecue or pizza party where admission for campers was an item to be donated to the Perinton Food Shelf. Campers donated more than 1,200 cans and other items.
To wrap up the summer, campers attended the seventh annual Steve Falcone Memorial Carnival. Steve Falcone was a camp staff member who passed away in 2004. Campers supported the Bright Eyes Fund with carnival proceeds.
The fund supports pediatric cancer treatment at Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong.
