About Francesca
Next-door neighbor Carol Spoor has been Francesca’s baby sitter since she was 1. So when she found out Spoor needed a double lung transplant, Francesca wanted to help. A benefit yard sale will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 27 and 28 at the Alfieri home, 417 West Ave., East Rochester. All proceeds from the sale will go to “Carol’s Lung Fund.” Here’s how huge this is — in addition to the items already donated for the sale, Francesca is planning to sell her cherished Barbie doll collection. “There are so many I can’t even count,” she said.
Hobbies and interests
Francesca enjoys playing basketball and baseball, as well as dancing. She is a cheerleader for East Rochester youth football and likes to study science in school. She plays clarinet, and is learning how to play saxophone.
In her words
“She (Spoor) is my third grandma. She has always been there for me. This is just something I want to do for her. She’s like family, and this is what family does for each other.”
