MONROE COUNTY

Brighton 59

Dylan Swetman drained a 15-footer with two seconds left in overtime to lift HF-L to a thrilling win over Brighton.
Nate Less finished with 17 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Cougars. Swetman added 15 points and Jake Apthorpe chipped in 11.
Brighton's Mike Hanson knocked down a pair of free throws with 12 seconds left to send the game into overtime. Phillip Pelligrino led the Barons with 20 points, followed by Doug Aldridge and Teddy Corcoran each with 10.

Pittsford Mendon 70,
Eastridge 63

The Pittsford Mendon boys basketball team improved to 8-2 with a victory over Eastridge.
Senior Vaughn Boler led the Vikings with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Michael D'Amico had 22 points and eight assists and Matt D'Amico added 10 points.
Shawmik Johnson paced Eastridge with 18 points and six rebounds. Alec Mortillaro had 13 points, Supreme Hannah scored 12 and Tyreik Johnson chipped in nine.

Spencerport 57,
Churchville-Chili 56

Jerame' Owens racked up 26 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots to lead Spencerport to an overtime win over Churchville-Chili.
Jake O'Connell added 11 points to help the Rangers improve to 7-6, 5-4 in league play.
Zach Wing scored 19 points to lead Churchville-Chili, including a free throw with 35 seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 51-51. Rashad Richardson added 12 points for the Saints, while Tevin Williams chipped in 10.

Rush-Henrietta 63,
Webster Thomas 60

Rush-Henrietta rallied from an 11-point deficit in the third quarter to earn a 63-60 win over Webster Thomas.
Wayne Barnes scored 21 points, including 17 in the second half, to lead the Royal Comets. Danny Drummond added 14 points to help the team improve to 4-8.
Tyler Carges finished with 19 points to lead Webster Thomas (8-6). Devin Jeffords had 11 points and Spenser Thomas scored 10.

Penfield 82,
Canandaigua 63

Kyle Covley and Lorenzo Stallworth each finished with 16 points to lead Penfield to a win over Canandaigua.
Trent Berardi had 14 points, Aaron Hawn scored 12 and Andre Lee finished with 11 as the Patriots improved to 8-5.
Tyler Serafine filled up the stat sheet for Canandaigua, finishing with 26 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. David Derron added 10 points.

The Fairport boys basketball team defeated Victor 67-52 on Friday to improve to 10-2 on the season.
Brian Sortino finished with a career-high 26 points to lead the Red Raiders. Eli Jones scored 17 points, Alex Doche had 10 points and Joe Massino added nine points, 10 rebounds, four steals and three assists.
Mitch Ford scored 13 points to lead Victor (5-8), followed by T.J. DiSanto with 12 and Conor Powers with 10.

Greece Athena evened its season record at 6-6 with a 73-42 victory over Greece Olympia.
Nick Saurini and Alex Spitale each scored 14 points to lead the Trojans' offense. Deion Hamilton scored 13 points, Nick Marlin had 12 points and 11 rebounds and Jay Sarkis added eight points and 11 assists.
Nate Smith and Jake DiLallo each scored 12 points to lead Greece Olympia.

Hilton 56,
Brockport 47

The Hilton boys basketball team defeated Brockport on Friday to improve to 9-4 on the season.
The Cadets took their first lead in the fourth quarter, 41-39. Nick Fowlks then scored nine of Hilton's next 10 points to secure the win.
Fowlks finished with 20 points, followed by Nick Prince with 11.
Frank Marcera scored 13 points to lead Brockport (4-8), followed by Sean Kemp with 11.

Webster Schroeder 47,
Irondequoit 36

Mitchell Herman scored a game-high 17 points to lead Webster Schroeder to a 47-36 win over Irondequoit.
Curtis Marshall had 11 points, Gunner Blaise scored nine and Emmit Holt finished with eight to help the Warriors improve to 11-4.
Jake Schmidt paced Irondequoit (5-8) with eight points and 12 rebounds.

FINGER LAKES

Newark 53,
Pal-Mac 51

David Sloan drilled a foul line jumper with eight seconds left on the clock to break a 51-51 tie and lift Newark to a win over Pal-Mac.
The Red Raiders missed a 3-pointers at the buzzer for the win.
Micah Wright recorded 20 points and five assists to lead the Reds. Stone finished with 12.
Coleston Scheik scored 17 points to lead Pal-Mac (7-4), followed by Derek Wager with 13.

Geneva 63,
Penn Yan 52

Shane Sweeney scored a game-high 22 points to lead Geneva to a win over Penn Yan.
Terrell Johnson added 15 points and Jordan Donahue chipped in 13 as the Panthers improved to 8-4.
Penn Yan (3-9) was led by Dylan Yonts with 19 points and Shane Bloom with 13. The duo combined to knock down eight 3-pointers.

Mynderse 54,
Waterloo 30

The Mynderse boys basketball team improved to 12-1 with a win over Waterloo. The Blue Devils entered the game ranked No. 6 in the state in Class B in the most recent poll.
Emre Goksy scored 11 points to lead Mynderse. Brandon Passalacqua had eight points, while Dylan Verkey and Jimmy Ricci each had seven.
Zarrien Sloan recorded eight points and 12 rebounds to lead Waterloo (3-9).

Wayne 69,
Midlakes 43

Tre LaMora scored 14 points to lead Wayne to a win over Midlakes.
Connor Hollenbeck and Paul Dinehart each had 11 points, while Hunter Beck and Tyler Graham each finished with nine.
Emmanuel Savellano finished with 11 points to pace Midlakes (5-8).
Wayne improves to 10-3.

In a make-up game from January 13, Shaiquan Nicholson scored 17 points to lead Edison over Marshall.
Dennis Felder and J'Quane Allen each added 11 points.

School of the Arts 49

The Wilson boys basketball team improved to 5-8 with a win over School of the Arts.
This game was a make-up from a January 13th cancellation due to snow.
John Lightfoot led the Wildcats with 19 points, eight rebounds and six steals. Nelson Riddle had 12 points, while Mark Calloway finished with 11 points and 18 rebounds.
Cam Smith scored 15 points for School of the Arts to finish as the only Silverhawk in double figures.

PRIVATE-PAROCHIAL

C.G. Finney 76,
Lima Christian 30

C.G. Finney evened its season record at 7-7 with a win over Lima Christian.
Justin Garnier paced the Falcons with 20 points. Chris Davidson scored 17 points, Constant Beaty had 16 and Corey Nash added 15. The team combined to hit eight 3-point field goals.
Steffen Domina and Ethan Paszko each had 11 points to lead Lima Christian (4-12).

GENESEE REGION

Notre Dame Batavia 83,
Byron-Bergen 53

The Notre Dame Batavia boys basketball team improved to 12-1, 9-0 in league play, with a victory over Byron-Bergen.
Doane McCulley scored 23 points to lead the Irish. Zach Hotze had 16 points, Tim McCulley finished with 13 and Jared Thornton added 10.
Austin Richardson led Byron-Bergen with 16 points.
Notre Dame Batavia is ranked No. 2 in the state in Class D in the most recent poll.

Elba 81,
Pembroke 49

The Elba boys basketball team improved to 13-1 with a victory over Pembroke.
Matt Ramsey collected 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lancers. Mike Ramsey scored 16 and Dan Ramsey chipped in 15.
Caleb Lang finished with a game-high 21 points to lead Pembroke (9-4).
Elba entered the game ranked No. 6 in the state in Class D in the most recent poll.

Alexander 54,
Kendall 49

The Alexander boys basketball team defeated Kendall on Friday night to improve to 6-7 on the season.
Travis Schmeider led the Trojans with 18 points. Mark Farnsworth added 12 points and Louis Breton chipped in 10.
Preston Vick paced Kendall (2-12) with 19 points, followed by Mike Nauden with 17.

Wayland-Cohocton 66,

The Wayland-Cohocton boys basketball team, ranked No. 16 in the state in Class B in the most recent poll, defeated Dansville on Friday to improve to 11-2.
Cody Oas finished with 15 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Wayland-Cohocton offense. Dean Bembower had 13 points and Evan Englert chipped in 11.
Mithchell Lamerson finished with a game-high 27 points to lead Dansville (5-7), while Geoffrey VanDunk added 10.

NON-LEAGUE

Aquinas 83,
Charlotte 64

Senior Jarron Jones set a new school record with 33 rebounds and added 20 points and 11 blocks to finish with a triple-double in a win over Charlotte.
Phil Valentia had 15 points, Christian White scored 13, and Xavier Major added 10 points and 10 rebounds to help the Little Irish improve to 10-3.
George Shoat scored a game-high 24 points to lead Charlotte (8-4).

Edison 81,
Gates Chili 67

Senior Jonathan Blythers finished with 41 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists and seven steals to lead Edison to a victory over Gates Chili.
Raashid Taggart added a 11 points and six steals to help the Inventors improve to 6-5.
Deyshonne Much paced Gates Chili (6-6) with 27 points.

East 76,
Strong Vincent 59

The East boys basketball team improved to 11-1 with a win over Strong Vincent High School of Erie, Pennsylvania.
Torrence Dyck filled up the stat sheet for the Orientals as he recorded 25 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and six steals. Dontay Caruthers had 14 points while Darryl Brown and Chaquan Wilburn each scored 11.
D'Andre Henderson scored 10 points to lead Strong Vincent.

Batavia 63,
Lackawana 49

Making his first career start, Batavia senior Tevin Bloom scored the first eight points of the game to lead Batavia to a win over Lackawana.
Jalen Smith had 18 points and Justin Washington added 12 and 10 rebounds as the Blue Devils improved to 9-4.
Dan Sylvers led Lackawana with 17 points, followed by Cam Smith with 12. The pair combined for eight 3-point field goals.

Bishop Timon/St. Jude 61,
Bishop Kearney 50

The Bishop Kearney boys basketball team fell to Timon/St. Jude on Friday, dropping their record to 10-3 on the season.
Jordan Williams scored 24 points to lead Bishop Timon/St. Jude.
Bishop Kearney was led by Redell Freeman with 12 points and Thomas Bryant with 10.

North Rose-Wolcott 41,
Monroe 38

Trailing by 17 points midway through the third quarter, North Rose-Wolcott held Monroe scoreless for seven minutes to get back in the game.
Chris Dean finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Cougars.
Felix Rivera scored 14 points to lead Monroe. Kashawn Williams had 10 points, while Sir William Rudolph added eight points and 15 rebounds.

HOUGHTON TOURNAMENT

Northstar Christian 40,
Faith Heritage 39

Senior Victor Boler converted a layup with 7.7 seconds left in the game to lift Northstar Christian to a win over Faith Heritage.
Boler finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds to help the Knights improve to 10-3.
Luke Last led Faith Heritage with 14 points, followed by Charlie Mitchell with 13.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

WAYNE COUNTY

Lyons 54,
Marion 37

Abbie Shields scored 14 points and pulled down 21 rebounds for Lyons in a 54-37 win over Marion.
The Lions led 26-0 after the first quarter.
Ryenn Smith added 12 points to help Lyons improve to 12-2 and claim a share of first place in the league with Gananda.  
Jessa Blondell had 15 points and 11 rebounds to pace Marion.
Lyons entered the game ranked No. 6 in the state in Class C in the most recent poll.

Gananda 55,
Sodus 24

Gananda improved to 8-4 with a win over Sodus.
The Blue Panthers sit atop the Wayne County League, tied with Lyons.
Jen Sterns filled up the stat sheet for Gananda, finishing with 23 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Jen Sterns added 12 points.
Hannah Prutzman hit five 3-pointers on her way to a team-high 17 points for Sodus.

East Rochester 41,
Williamson 32

The East Rochester girls basketball team defeated Williamson on Friday night, holding the Marauders to just 15 points through the first three quarters.
Brianna Fedele led the Bombers with 13 points. Loren Dunn and Samantha Anderson both added 11 points.
Monica Brennan had a game-high 19 points to lead Williamson (4-10). Carly Bean added four points and 12 rebounds.

FINGER LAKES

Newark 54,
Pal-Mac 46

The Newark girls basketball team improved to 14-0 with a win over Pal-Mac.
Brynn Lauer led the Reds with 18 points, five assists and five steals. Brandi Lauer had 12 points and Sabrina Mccaulay added eight points and 11 rebounds.
Ashley Vanderwall finished with 12 points to lead Pal-Mac (9-5), followed by Dana Nau with nine and Courtney Ameele with eight.

Geneva 73,
Penn Yan 39

The Geneva girls basketball team improved to 9-3 with a win over Penn Yan.
The Panthers led 33-17 at halftime and extended their lead to 55-27 by the end of the third quarter.
Mia Morrison led Geneva with 15 points. Alisia Griffin had 14 points, while Courthney Franceschi and Ashtin Braman each had 10.
Brianna Bush scored 13 points to lead Penn Yan (3-10), followed by Taylor Travis with 10.

Red Jacket 63,
Dundee 34

Red Jacket junior Bailey Hixson finished with 32 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals and eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for her career in a win over Dundee.
Chelsea Jacobs chipped in 11 points to help the Indians improve to 10-2.
Rennee Thomas scored eight points to lead Dundee, followed by Brooke Howell with seven and Lauren Howell with six.

Midlakes 48,
Wayne 36

Jennifer Strub recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead Midlakes to a victory over Wayne.
Allison Clements added 12 points to help the Screaming Eagles improve to 5-8.
Leah Saavedra paced Wayne (1-13) with 13 points.

Margot Hetzke scored a game-high 22 points to lead Penfield to a 68-29 win over Canandaigua.
Megan Malloy added 15 points to help the Patriots improve to 13-0.
Dakota Savitcheff finished with 10 points to lead Canandaigua (3-8).
Penfield is currently ranked No. 5 in the state in Class AA in the most recent poll.

Fairport 41,
Victor 22

The Fairport girls basketball team defeated Victor on Friday night to improve to 8-5.
Caroline Dalton led the Red Raiders with 10 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks. Kristen Koch chipped in eight points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Fran Valenti scored six points to lead Victor (6-7).

Rush-Henrietta 54,
Webster Thomas 50
overtime

Rush-Henrietta improved to 10-4 with an overtime victory over Webster Thomas.
At the end of regulation Dana Watts grabbed a defensive rebound for Rush-Henrietta, dribbled the length of the court and made a layup to force overtime.
Emily Nestler scored 14 points to lead the Royal Comets. Watts had 12, LeighAnn Stauffer finished with 11 and Morgan Johnson added 10.
Kara Houppert finished with a game-high 21 points to pace Webster Thomas.

Churchville-Chili 46,
Spencerport 29

Brooke Ennis scored a game-high 17 points to lead Churchville-Chili to a win over Spencerport.
Tasia Ortiz added six points and 14 rebounds to help the Saints improve to 7-4, 5-4 in league play.
Emily Leone scored 11 points to lead Spencerport (3-8), followed by Sabrina DiBellis and Ashley Alvarez each with four.

The Hilton girls basketball team improved to 11-3 with a win over Brockport.
Heather Hebert led the Cadets with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Maria Jackson had 15 points and 13 rebounds, Amy Hasenauer scored 10 points and Cameron Graupman chipped in eight points and seven assists.
Jessica Blocker led Brockport (4-10) with 13 points, followed by Ryann Sullivan with 12.

The Pavilion girls basketball team improved to 9-5 on Friday with a win over Keshequa.
Danielle Tallo collected 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals to lead the Golden Gophers. Erin Cleveland added eight points, eight rebounds and nine steals.
Alex Flint finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds and three assists to lead Keshequa (9-4).

Hornell 47,
Livonia 25

Colleen Smith scored 14 points to finish as the only player in double figures, leading Hornell to a 47-25 win over Livonia.
Danielle Richardson, Jackie Lieb and Jocelyn Acor each added six points for the Red Raiders.
Carly Sherman had seven points to lead Livonia (5-7).

Kaleigh Cicero finished with 20 points and five steals to lead Perry to a victory over Cal-Mum.

The Warsaw girls basketball team defeated Letchworth to improve to 6-7, 6-0 in league play.
Sabrina Ellsworth recorded 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Tigers. Haley Dumbleton added 13 points and Shelby Kruppner added 12.
Morgan Shearing led Letchworth (3-10) with 10 points. Taylor Griswold added four points and 10 rebounds.

Dansville 32,
Wayland-Cohocton 26

Anna Rauber hit a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to lift Dansville to a win over Wayland-Cohocton.
Kelsey Poplawski scored nine points to lead the Mustangs. Rauber finished with eight along with Hailey Sick, who also pulled down 15 rebounds.
Diane Cork had a game-high 10 points to led Wayland-Cohocton.

Notre Dame Batavia improved to 11-2 with a victory over Byron-Bergen.
Melanie Taylor scored 16 points to lead the Irish. Laurie Call added four points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals.
Rachel Walker paced Byron-Bergen (9-3) with 10 points.

NON-LEAGUE

Mount Morris 53,
Arkport 36

Justine Yates recorded 10 points and 17 rebounds to lead Mount Morris over Arkport.
Grace D'Angelo had 16 points, 10 steals and five assists and Shana D'Angelo added 11 points as the Blue Devils improved to 9-5.
Lauren Wyant had a game-high 20 points to lead Arkport.

East 69,
Pittsford Mendon 56

The East girls basketball team defeated Pittsford Mendon on Friday night, ending the Vikings nine game winning streak.
Renetta Fordham had a game-high 23 points to lead East. Rose Ayala had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Tyra Jones added 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Laruen D'Hont paced Pittsford Mendon (11-3) with 20 points. Paige Hill added 12 points and Erin Lyons scored 10.
Mendon defeated East earlier this season, as well as in the Class A title game last year.

Cardinal O'Hara 65,
Bishop Kearney 55

Bishop Kearney fell to Cardinal O'Hara on Friday, dropping the team to 10-5.
Erin Shabazz led Cardinal O'Hara with 18 points.
Taina Graham led Bishop Kearney with 11 points, 11 assists and six steals. Sheila Hawkes chipped in 11 points, eight rebounds and five steals.

Webster Thomas 69,
Brockport 30

Webster Schroeder defeated Brockport on Friday night to win the Coach Chow Girls Basketball Tournament.
Tournament MVP Kelsey Annese led the Warriors with 10 points, six assists and five steals. Christina Carosa had 19 points an Krista Cooley added 12.
Jessica Blocker scored 14 points to lead Brockport.
