Police say the body found in Tryon Park on Wednesday is that of a 73-year-old Edline Chun of Rochester.
Chun was an adjunct professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Her shooting death has been ruled a homicide.
Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard says they have a person of interest in custody.
Chun’s body was discovered by a Monroe County Pure Water Division maintenance worker was doing a routine inspection of a tunnel line when he discovered the body of a woman by a ravine in the park. The area of the park is county property and is gated and locked.
