The Hawk Migration Association of North America is hosting Raptorthon and Eagle Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 12 at Braddock Bay.
The event is designed to raise awareness of birds of prey and their migrations. The event also helps raise funds for research and education projects.
Throughout the day, a hawk watch will be held with participants learning how to identify and count raptors. Hawk banding station tours will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hawk banding demonstrations will also take place. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and take a photograph with a live bald eagle.
At 11 a.m., the presentation "The Bald Eagle in New York State" will be given by Mike Allen.
The event will also feature a binocular scavenger hunt and activities.
