Rochester Eye and Laser Center, 30 N. Union St., Rochester, recently completed upgrades to include new patient areas and a new optical shop.

CEO Kenneth Lindahl said the transformation, combined with the benefits from the East End area, made it an easy decision to invest in the Inner Loop East location.

“I wanted a full-service eye care center that would serve the city and the surrounding six counties,” Lindahl said. “Some folks say they don’t want to come downtown, but I wanted a place that was centrally located in the East End. The Inner Loop region is wonderful for my patients to come from all over the area. I’ve been coming downtown all my life to church and the Eastman Theatre, and I wanted to put a practice right here, where my heart is, and make things better and make a difference here Rochester.”

The office will hold an open house from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19. Baye Muhammad, commissioner of the Department of Neighborhood and Business Development, and Raul Salinas, director of strategic business development, will discuss the city’s plans for 2017.
