Happiness House will host its 14th annual gala dinner and auction event at 6 p.m. Feb. 3 at Belhurst Castle, 4069 W. Lake Road, Geneva.

The fundraising gala is expected to raise $100,000. Proceeds will benefit Ability Partners Foundation in support of the programs and services offered through Happiness House, CP Rochester and Rochester Rehabilitation.

Happiness House, CP Rochester and Rochester Rehabilitation support adults and children with physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities and disadvantages and their families. The three agencies work to provide clinical, educational and residential services to over 6,000 individuals every year despite shrinking government reimbursements.

APF relies on donors, fundraising events and corporate sponsors to help bridge the financial gap.

Board members Richard Hawks and his daughter, Jackie Hawks Lyttle, will receive this year’s Humanitarians of the Year Award. Hawks is senior vice president of Canandaigua National Bank and Trust, and Lyttle serves as vice president of product and contract management of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.

The Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented to J. Patrick O’Connell III. O’Connell, a senior at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, is captain and an offensive lineman on the Hobart football team. He has headed the annual Tackles and Touchdowns event for the past three years and has coordinated the Hobart football players’ visit to the Geneva Happiness House site. The event has raised over $41,000 to date.

Jim King will receive the Board Member of the Year Award. King serves as vice president and commercial banking officer for Lyons National Bank. He has served on various boards in multiple capacities throughout the years. He currently chairs the Audit and Finance Committee for Ability Partners Inc. and serves on the Long Range Planning Committee. King actively recruits new members for the board along with donations for its agencies.

Tickets to the gala are available on a first come, first served basis.
