The George Eastman Museum, 900 East Ave., Rochester, will present the annual Dutch Connection floral display Feb. 10-26.
The display will feature flowering bulbs displayed throughout the mansion, including tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, amaryllis and freesias in vibrant shades in the conservatory, and tropical orchids will be displayed throughout the Palm House and Colonnade courtesy of the Genesee Region Orchid Society.
Eastman ordered bulbs from Holland every year to decorate his conservatory. His annual orders were inspired by a trip he made to Holland in 1890, where he was impressed by the tulip fields.
The display is based on Eastman’s original orders placed with Dutch bulb companies. The cultivation process started in July, with 6,000 bulbs growing since October.
