Polite Ink will perform the original sketch and improv comedy show “Erin Go Brackets” at 8 p.m. March 11 at the Spotlight Theatre Arts, 3 Railroad St., Fairport.
This is the first time this woman-led comedy troupe has appeared at Spotlight. The troupe is directed by Karen Craft, a Fairport resident, who established the group five years ago and is well known in Rochester for her character work and comedic chops. The group regularly performs at the Multiuse Community Cultural Center in Rochester where it serves as the in-house comedy troupe. The ensemble includes Craft, Corrie Spike Carter, of Fairport; Don Beechner, of Spencerport; and Michael Anthony, of Rochester, all of which serve as both writers and performers with the group. The team is often accompanied by a rotating set of local guest stars, performers and media personalities. The group also hosts a monthly radio show on WAYO 104.3 FM.
“The theater scene in Rochester is vibrant and expands beyond the city into the suburbs,” said Karen Craft. “There are so many wonderful things going on at Spotlight and we’re happy to be a part of it—especially this time of year when there is so much material to share and laugh about.”
