7-Eleven Inc. is offering a franchise giveaway contest targeted toward women entrepreneurs in an effort to increase its number of female franchisees.
The winner will receive a 7-Eleven franchise anywhere in the continental U.S. without fees up to a $190,000 value. 7-Eleven will make a donation to the winning woman’s charity of choice that aligns with its Project A-Game program.
“Some of our most successful franchisees across the country are women,” said Larry Hughes, vice president of franchise systems. “7-Eleven serves a diverse customer base, and the number of women shopping our stores continues to grow. More and more are choosing to become independent business owners, and 7-Eleven offers a proven system and one of the best entrepreneurial opportunities around.”
Applicants must be ages 21 and older, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, have excellent credit and have at least three years of leadership in retail or restaurant experience. Contestants will go through the same qualification process as all franchise applicants, include credit evaluation, a leadership test, business plan development, budget and store location preferences.
The top 25 candidates will submit a video explaining why they deserve a franchise. Seven women will then continue to the final, where the public will vote for their favorite video. The top three finalists will be interviewed by 7-Eleven’s Franchise Department management. The winner will be announced in July.
Those interested must apply online by April 7.
