WallByrd Theatre Co. will perform Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” at 7:30 p.m. through April 29 at The Lyric Theatre, 440 East Ave., Rochester.
To escape the monotony of Victorian England life, two friends adopt an alter ego named Earnest in an attempt to win the love of two women. The performance will put viewers nearly on the stage as the play unravels a story of white lies, disguise and the absurdity of Victorian sensibilities.
Tickets at the door cost $20 general admission, $15 for students with an ID. Group rates are available. The April 29 performance will be American Sign Language-interpreted.
