Local sauce manufacturer LiDestri Foods has been given approval to add a new site and new jobs to its local operations.
The company is one of three economic development projects approved for assistance by the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency (COMIDA).
In 2009, LiDestri purchased a former Kodak building in the Eastman Business Park in Greece and has spent $50 million to transform it into a fully functional spirits and sauce plant.
Now, the company plans to purchase a second former Kodak facility on 20 acres of land at Eastman Business Park to provide more warehouse space and enable additional manufacturing.
This nearly 400,000 square-foot building will cost just over $11 million to equip, and is projected to bring new jobs to the region. LiDestri will host 584 positions at the site and plans to add 70 new full-time positions by 2014.
“Monroe County is proud to partner with LiDestri Foods as the company continues to create jobs and invest in our local economy,” said County Executive Brooks.
