Residents passed Fairport's $107.2 million school budget on Tuesday.
Close to 4,000 voters cast their votes at Johanna Perrin Middle School, and the school budget passed by a vote of 2,664 votes in favor and 1,340 against.
School board candidates Peter Forsgren and Marilyn Monkelbaan were elected, and James Donahue was elected to the Fairport Library board of trustees.
Along with the $2.4 million library budget for next year, voters also approved the purchase of new school buses. The library budget was approved with 2,670 votes yes and 1,320 votes no.
Although the budget planning process has been met by mixed feedback from the public this year, Superintendent Jon Hunter said that Tuesday's voting turnout and results were encouraging.
"This is a community that respects good education, and this vote is the community saying they want to continue the good work."
