About Charlette
Finkle recently attended the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C., for 10 days last month. Fairport English teacher Mark Northrup nominated her to attend the conference, which provides students with the opportunity to interact with personnel in the government, news media and international community.
Hobbies and interests
Finkle was a member of the stage crew in Fairport’s production of “Urinetown: The Musical.” She has been active in Girl Scouts since kindergarten. The NYLC trip gave her an idea for her Gold Award project after learning about the problem of homeless veterans in this country. As for college, Finkle would like to study to become a veterinarian.
In her words
“It was so much fun and it was so cool to just meet everybody from all of the different states and see what things are like in their areas. I also got to see all the monuments and all the historical points in Washington, D.C.”
